The dawa of Jama’at Tableegh!

Question To Shaykh Yahya On Jama’at Tableegh

Question: Some of the tabliqiyeen (jama’at tableegh) us as proof the hadith: Convey from me even if its an ayah, that its not a condition for a person that wants to establish dawah, that he has to be a scholar?

Answer: The dawah of Allah can not be established except by someone that has with him knowledge, or something of knowledge. As for him being a jaahil, how can he establish dawah and he doesn’t know what dawah is in the first place (he has no knowledge)?!? This is wrong, and its in opposition to the the dawah(call) of the messengers.

Allah (the most High) says:

قُلْ هَـٰذِهِ سَبِيلِي أَدْعُو إِلَى اللَّهِ ۚ عَلَىٰ بَصِيرَةٍ أَنَا وَمَنِ اتَّبَعَنِي

Say (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه و سلم): “This is my way; I invite unto Allah (i.e. to the Oneness of Allah – Islamic Monotheism) with sure knowledge, I and whosoever follows me [Yusuf Ayah:108]

This is wrong.Yes, enjoining the good and forbidding the evil to the extent of the of ability of the person from what he knows, even if he is from the general folk,it is compulsory for him to enjoin the good from that which knows, and that he forbids the evil from that which he knows, and that he calls to Allah from that which he knows.

From the statement of Allah (the exalted):

وَلْتَكُن مِّنكُمْ أُمَّةٌ يَدْعُونَ إِلَى الْخَيْر

Let there arise out of you a group of people inviting to all that is good [Aal-Imran Ayah:104]

Every person loves to be from this group.

And from the statement of the prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):

“Whoever among you sees an evil, then let him change it with his hand. If he cannot, then with his tongue, and if he cannot, then with his heart – and that is the weakest of faith.” [Muslim]

As for the issue of him ascribing to himself that he’s a daa’ee (caller) and a mualim (teacher) and (in reality) hes upon jahl (ignorance), the truth is this is incorrect. What the jamaa’at tableegh are doing May Allah guide them, By Allah it is wrong! and they are harming more than they are benefiting.

The Ruling of Summer Camps

summer-camp-islamicAsh Shaykh Muhammad Amaan al Jaamee, may Allaah have mercy upon him, was asked on ruling of summer camps?

…I advise you and the likes of you to keep far from these political schemes (the summer camps) and to take advantage of your (summer) break in the memorization of the book of Allaah and memorizing texts from all sort of fields, such as in aqeedah, in fiqh, in science of hadeeth , in grammar and in sarf. Go to one of the sacred Masjids and memorize the book of Allaah or that which is made easy for you (to memorize) from it…

Ash Shaykh Ahmad an-Najmee, may Allaah have mercy upon him, was asked: is it from the ways of al Ikwaanul Muslimoon to take the youths out to camping places?

A: Yes this is from their ways, so they say we are going to read Quraan or something like that of those affairs. So they go out in the night to far places…

[The Reference: al Intiqaadaatul Aliyah, Page: 103, print: Daarul Imaam Ahmad.]

Ash Shaykh Saalih al Fawzaan, may Allaah preserve him, was asked is calling the people to come out and play a means of giving da’wah?

A: No it is not a means of giving Da’wah, verily the means of giving da’wah are confined to that which is considered to be following the messenger, alaihi as salaatu was salaam, rather this is from that which is considered to be allowable acts (only, not an act of worship) if the conditions and the regulations that we (previously) mentioned are met… so one can strengthen one’s body (by it) or giving yourself (body) time to relax…

The Grand Muftee of Saudi Arabia, may Allaah preserve him, was asked about summer camps?

A: Learning and studying in the Masjids is better than moving around with no benefit.

Ash Shakh Saalih al Fawzaan, may Allaah preserve him, said:

It is not from the means of giving Da’wah having group trips, having secret meetings and by isolating oneself from the community as some groups does.

He, may Allaah preserve him, also was asked should one go out with them to their camps?

A: leave them; do not go out with them.

Ash-Shaykh al-Uthaymeen’s Stance on Summer Camps/Trips

Ash-Shaykh Rabee‟, may Allâh preserve him, clarified the stance of Shaykh al-Uthaymeen, may Allâh have mercy on him, regarding these trips when he mentioned:

“Going out to the Masjids to give Da‟wah and calling to Allâh, then this okay. But as for going out in the way of the Hizbiyyoon to play soccer then this something not intended by ash-Shaykh al-Uthaymeen ,may Allâh bless you…”

Sheikh Ibn Baz: A Tear for Da’wah

By: Shaykh Ibraheem ibn Aamir ar-Ruhaylee

From the examples [of good manners in calling to Allaah] that are mentioned regarding some of our scholars, is what some of the people of knowledge have mentioned regarding Shaykh AbdulAzeez bin Baz (may Allaah have mercy upon him).

He once advised a man about a particular issue, this man was known for having knowledge however he made a mistake that became widespread; it became known amongst the people and specifically amongst the scholars of his country. However the man insisted upon his error. So Shaykh Ibn Baz advised him and persisted in doing so, nevertheless the man did not accept his advice. He turned away from the Shaykh and left him but this did not cause the Shaykh to change his ways and it did not affect his gentleness with him. When the man was about to leave, he looked towards Shaykh Ibn Baz and saw him crying; he saw the eyes of the Shaykh shedding tears. So he asked the Shaykh regarding this, and he replied: I am only concerned about you.’

(Upon hearing this) the man retracted his statement and accepted the advice.

His retraction was due to which thing? Due to this tear; this tear that the Shaykh only shed out of kindness and compassion for the Muslims. Allaah gives due to compassion. This is why sometimes, when the one who is calling has compassion for the Muslims, Allaah causes it to be shown in the form of a tear. The one being admonished then sees this and accepts the advice.

This tear had an effect, and this compassion had an effect upon the retraction of that man. The man was not convinced by the evidences and proofs; he was not convinced with gentleness in dealing with him, however it was the compassion and mercy that Allaah has placed in the hearts of those scholars.

{These two matters) combined with sincere advice for the Muslims have an effect, and this is realised by some people.

Shaykh AbdulAzeez bin Baz (may Allaah have mercy upon him)

Shaykh AbdulAzeez bin Baz (may Allaah have mercy upon him)

That which is mentioned regarding Shaykh Ibn Baz (may Allaah have mercy upon him) in his gentleness with those who opposed the truth, this is famous and well known. Some of those who opposed the truth would be given nicknames, and some people would even use very derogatory terms against them. However Shaykh Ibn Baz would not lose hope in calling them to the truth, visiting them or maintaining relations with them until Allaah guided many people due to him. Due to this, he became an Imaam who was followed in goodness and in upholding the Sunnah.

If it was said: Shaykh Ibn Baz says something, people would be convinced, submit to it and retract from their statements. Allaah raise this man with which thing? Due to his compassion, sincere advice and gentleness; and examples of his dealing with people are many.

Some of the liars, some of those who would falsify his papers (verdicts) and speech, some of those who would belittle and insult the Shaykh, and also some of those who fell into error – all of these people, he would be gentle with them. He would advise the rulers with gentleness, he did this until Allaah gave him what he gave him in goodness.
